Before I get into faux fur vests, let me first state that this post does NOT promote real fur. I am all about faux fur. For those who don’t know exactly what faux fur is and why it’s around, I think PETA does the best job explaining it: Faux fur doesn’t imply faux animal cruelty or faux dead animals. It is simply someone seeing a pattern and texture they like in the natural world and, rather than taking it for themselves (i.e., killing the animal), they try to mimic and manufacture the material.
Now that we have that out of the way, let me tell you why you need a fur vest this season.

It feels like you’re wearing a warm hug all day long. Oh the way it feels when you’ve got long sleeves on and then a fur vest—warm and protected, like a Snuggie that you can wear in public, ha. You think it would be bulky and Viking-like, but actually the vest is so light and fluffy. Perks of not using real fur! You get the happy without the hulk.

When you buy clothing that is vegan leather or vegan fur, the real talk about it is that it’s not real. This works to your wallet’s advantage because you’ll pay a pretty dollar for real animal products. But when it comes to a vegan vest, you’re able to look great, stand up for a cause, and pay w-a-a-a-y less than what you would for real fur.

Fur has been around since the very beginning of time. It is actually timeless and classic. I once wore black sweatpants (you couldn’t tell they were sweatpants, but I could :)) with a black long-sleeved shirt and black tennis shoes. But the moment I put on that fur vest, I felt like I’d put in two hours of effort to get ready that morning instead of two minutes.
