Try Something Out of Your Comfort Zone This Week – 2 Timothy 1:7

After today, there are only 105 more days till the New Year!!!
We are 71% through 2017.
Where has time gone?!
Oh yeah, we’ve been busy with work and Uni and family and friends
and fitness and food and health and church and Trump and natural disasters
and Game of Thrones and prayer and celebrations.
That got me thinking, has this year been what I wanted it to be?
On New Years Eve, super excited me made just one 2017 resolution.
It was to do one thing out of my “comfort zone” a week.
Why?
Because comfort zones can be detrimental.
We can sit in our routine and never expand our skills, mind, or movement.
This week, I signed up to be Austin’s newest @uber driver.
Every ride comes with a new conversation, and a new experience.
I was terrified to try it, seriously so scared.
But so far all I’ve got are good stories, and I’ve met some interesting people.
Stories to come on that later haha.
It makes me wonder what other things have I let fear prevent me from trying?
Straying out of your comfort zone is scary, but like I realize every time,
“God gave us a spirit NOT of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
2 Timothy 1:7.
I hope your 2017 isn’t a reflection of 2016.
Try something new this week that takes you out of your comfort zone,
something that stretches you a little.
If you’ve done something recently out of your comfort zone, what is it?
Cheers,

Hey — I wrote a book about all of this.
Living Open-Handed is the devotional I wrote during a season when I really needed to hear these words myself. If you're in a place where you need to be encouraged by scripture and softened by grace, it might be for you too.
