This post was sponsored by Avid Hotels but this hotel review and all opinions within it are my honest thoughts and reactions of my time in Oklahoma City.
This past weekend my husband and I checked into the first Avid Hotels, located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. We’ve never been to Oklahoma, so we didn’t know what to expect! Our Uber driver helpfully recommended numerous things to do in this city, and once we dropped off our bags at the hotel, we were ready to explore.
But first, let me tell you about the hotel. Our driver dropped us off at the Avid Hotels, a beautiful and bright, tall building. Two colors popped out at me – turquoise and orange. We walked into the lobby and saw the gorgeous natural light, modern furniture, modern design, and a smiling receptionist. The receptionist gave us a room key to a corner suite on the fourth floor.
The first thing I noticed about our room is how bright it was. The second thing I noticed was how there were contrasting red hooks on the wall to hang our coats and items. I found these very useful. Honestly, more hotels should have hooks in rooms! Our bed was firm yet comfortable, the shower had the right amount of pressure, and we didn’t hear any of our neighbors. We slept reaaaaal well y’all. Also, their TV’s have the Chromecast capability so we streamed movies at night instead of having to rent hotel movies or flip through channels.
I checked out the gym, pool, coffee station, and market the next day. Did I work out? Nope. Is the gym a good one? Yup! If you’re someone who likes to work out in hotels/on vacation, you’ll be satisfied with this one. Next, I walked over to the pool. It’s outdoors, so there was no way I was swimming it, but it was still spotless! The coffee station had coffee, tea, and water (both still and sparkling). We got coffee every morning and tea every night! The market is great if you’re looking to buy a few snacks and drinks to keep with you during your stay. They have many healthy options too.
We had an excellent stay at the very first Avid Hotels! I can’t wait to see all the other ones that pop up soon because I think people will enjoy staying at a bright, refreshing, functional, and efficient hotel. Avid Hotels is a franchise based hotel brand launched in 2017 by InterContinental Hotels Group. Further hotels are planned in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Germany. Cheers,
Hey — I wrote a book about all of this.
Living Open-Handed is the devotional I wrote during a season when I really needed to hear these words myself. If you're in a place where you need to be encouraged by scripture and softened by grace, it might be for you too.
