I’ve been a vegetarian my whole life. Seriously. So when it comes to a vegetarian burger, I know exactly what works and what is more of a “cop-out” burger. I do not want a piece of lettuce with tomato and onion in between two slices of bread. What do I want? I want creativity, passion, and flavor to permeate that delicious veggie burger. Description: I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve gone to P-Terry’s and ordered their veggie burger. I always order it with a wheat bun, mayonnaise, onions, no cheese. You do have to let them know if you want to add onions or the whole wheat bun. The veggie patty itself has so much flavor and for the low price of $3.95 I have to recommend it to you. Description: Most things at Bouldin Creek Café make any vegetarian pretty happy but their award-winning veggie royale burger is one you should definitely check out. Description: I don’t know WHY I hadn’t had something like this earlier but this Assam burger made with Indian curry spices, chickpeas, potato and rice, leaf lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and vegan aioli is one that definitely makes the top five veggie burgers in Austin list. Description: Kerbey Lane is undoubtedly known for its eclectic variety of breakfast items and their famous queso. What you may not know is that their veggie burger is one you should try. This homemade veggie patty with risotto, beet, almond, flax and hemp seed, sun-dried tomato, black bean, mushroom, chives, miso glaze, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onion, vegan Russian sauce is the one that is packed with flavor. Description: The La Bandita at Hopdoddy is consistently ranked as one of the best veggie burgers in the nation. And really who could be surprised? This incredible burger consists of a black bean and corn patty, avocado, Texas goat cheese (I usually opt for pepper jack), arugula, cilantro pesto, chipotle aioli, tomatoes, and onions all in-between a fresh whole-wheat bun.
